Frequently Asked Questions:

How does your treatment work?

Biscuit Health uses Sublingual Immunotherapy (SLIT) to help patients overcome their allergies. SLIT has been used effectively for over 30 years in Europe and the USA for long-term treatment of allergies.

Similar to allergy shots, SLIT targets the source of allergy symptoms by exposing the body to small amounts of allergens, retraining the body’s immune responses over time.

Our treatment kits are formulated in a Health Canada Approved facility before being shipped directly to the patients’ home. Our allergy experts provide 24/7 support digitally to patients.

How does Biscuit compare to allergy shots?

Both our treatment (SLIT) and allergy shots (SCIT) are forms of treatments that involve the repeated administration of allergens to desensitize the immune system — the difference is the method of administration.

Over 30 years of real-world & research evidence shows SLIT to be as effective, if not, more effective than allergy shots when administered correctly.

Our sublingual immunotherapy treatment leads the industry in both safety and concentrations of allergens. Our treatment exceeds the cumulative monthly doses of traditional allergy shots when our dosing schedule is followed (daily), allowing for lower treatment times and costs.

What outcomes can patients expect with Biscuit's treatment?

The majority of our patients experience a 40-60% reduction in symptoms within the first 3-6 months of treatment—with lifelong remission of allergies after 2 years of treatment in 90% of patients.

What does the patient's treatment experience look like?

Once test results are uploaded into our provider portal, patients will receive an automated email with a report of their results, along with information about their treatment options and a link to complete their medical intake to start treatment.

After completing our medical intake, patients can expect to:

  1. Hop on a brief telehealth visit with one of our allergy experts to review their treatment plan within 24-48 hours
  2. Receive their treatment kit within 7-12 business days of their telehealth visit
  3. Receive quarterly check-ins from our team virtually
  4. Have access to our care team 24/7 through our app or via email
