At-home immunotherapy treatment
For Food Allergies
1-in-2 Canadian households are affected by food allergies. Our research & clinical teams are working hard to expand accessible & effective allergy care to food allergies in Canada. We are accepting a limited number of patients to pilot our food allergy program ahead of a broader launch across Canada in 2025.
At-A-Glance
Sublingual Allergy Immunotherapy
Also known as SLIT — Sublingual Allergy Immunotherapy is convenient way to help de-sensitize your immune system from food allergens such as Peanuts, Dairy, and Fish. Treatment through SLIT can help decrease the risk of life-threatening allergic reactions. Â
Convenient
Unlike allergy shots, Sublingual Immunotherapy Treatment (SLIT) can be taken daily at-home. It takes less than 2 minutes per day.
Effective
Our patients who have been treated through SLIT for their environmental allergies have seen a 63% reduction in symptoms after 1 year of treatment, and complete control* of their allergies after 2 years of treatment. We are working hard to explore ways we can replicate similar outcomes for food allergies using our unique treatment model.
Safe For Everyone
Compared to Oral Immunotherapy (OIT) or Allergy Shots, SLIT carries a more favorable safety profile. In a recent study in Paediatric patients, no life-threatening reactions were recorded, and only 2.1% of patients required epineprhine intervention. In a similar study, 4% of patients treated through OIT, and 7.4% of patients treated through allergy shots required epinerphine intervention. Our team is working hard to verify this data and to develop strict protocols to further improve safety ahead of our food allergy program launch.Â
